VTS - Visual Thinking Strategies
VTS was developed by Philip Yenawine, the Education Director at MOMA (1983-1993) and cognitive psychologist Abigail Housen. It creates an environment that supports and allows the viewer to make personal connections with the art. It has been found to increase visual literacy and viewing skills, complex thinking, both expressive and receptive communication, and problem solving.
